Unbelievable: Hermès Designer T-Shirt Priced at 90K

The 90K Hermes Crocodile T-shirt on the runway

Usually a designer T-Shirt is a reasonably priced fashion item that gives consumers a taste of a luxury designers’ fashion line without the high price tag.  Both Target & H&M have done well marketing Tees & sweatshirts from Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler and even Karl Lagerfeld.  With this shirt, luxury retailer Hermes breaks all the rules for fashionable t-shirts, and possibly consumer bank accounts too.  Hermès has released a black crocodile T-shirt ( no, it’s not cruelty free) priced at a mere $91,000  USD.  I’m sorry, but that’s a house in some areas of the United States, not to mention money for the necessities of life like food, heat, electricity.  Personally, I am shocked to see this completely over the top item on sale.   The Gloss reports that the shirt is on sale at Hermès Madison Avenue store.  In the words of Ricky Ricardo,  “Ay, ay, ay.”  Hermès “you gotta lotta splainin to do.” How do you justify the killing and skinning of the poor crocodile, for not only Birkin bags,  but not this completely over the top T-Shirt.

What do you think readers? Know anyone who will be mortgaging their home or maxing out their credit cards for this T-Shirt?
