Topshop Announces Twitter #TrickorTweet Contest: Fashions and Prizes for Halloween

Topshop isn’t exactly the place I go to to get scary, but they do have a lot of trendy and fun looks that could be converted into Halloween costumes, especially if you want to go for a supermodel or Hollywood look.  That’s why our chums at Topshop have come up with the idea for a Twitter #TrickorTweet  contest.  If you love the siren’s call of free fashion and the fun of Halloween, then this ones for you.  This sounds like a fashion blogger’s delight.   “We love the idea of using Halloween to connect our digital and physical worlds.” says Justin Cooke, Chief Marketing Officer, Topshop. “We know our customer moves seamlessly between the two and we want to make that experience even more fun for them and drive conversation in our community around a moment that everyone wants to be a part of.”   That Justin….he knows us , right? 🙂

So what’s Topshop ‘Trick or Tweet? It’s a social media competition to celebrate Topshop’s new Halloween collection appropriately titled  ‘Witching Hour’.  If you haven’t seen the new Witching Hour collection, be prepared to go to the darkside as it’s very goth. My favorite piece is the Skeleton dress but, it’s already sold out online! Boo!  I also love the Cat Fascinator and if I can get one, that would be my #TrickorTweet! So reeve your Twitter engines. Starting tomorrow, from Oct. 26th – 31st October you can enter the ‘Trick or Tweet’ competition by tweeting @Topshop your favourite Halloween style tip or a twitpic of their Halloween outfit hashtagging it #TrickorTweet. Note, you must be brave for this challenge, or have a good costume! 🙂 If you accept the challenge, you may be rewarded. The best tweets will be rewarded with some shopping prizes. @Topshop will send messages to entrants to thank them for taking part with the best tweets each day treated to £100/$150 gift cards.  You can participate in the challenge online or by going to a Topshop flagship store (London: Oxford Circus, New York: Soho or Las Vegas: Fashion Show Mall) and getting your fright on. If you go to a Topshop flagship you can enjoy complimentary make-overs with a Halloween twist and DJ performances to help you get into the Halloween spirit.  I’ll be Tweeting from Los Angeles, although we have no Topshop yet (coming Spring 2013) just to get into the spirit of things.

If you’re like me, always looking for a deal, be aware that at selectTopshop flagship stores (see above list), customers will be able to purchase items using tweets as currency in the ‘Topshop Tweet Shop’ where Halloween-inspired make-up will be given in exchange for tweets. Customers visiting selected Topshop stores during these dates will also be able to get involved by taking a “Twitpic” of themselves in front of in-store ‘Trick or Tweet’ backdrops and posters. Get ready to channel your inner Elvira. Use the hashtag #TrickorTweet or either Twitter or  Instagram to participate in the competition. Additional prizes will be given in-store to customers dressed in the best Halloween inspired outfits during ‘the Witching Hour’ between 5pm-6pm on 27th and on October 31st. Winners will also be re-tweeted to all Topshop’s fans and an album of the best outfits will be shared with its millions of social followers on multiple platforms. That could be fun.   Especially if you were lucky enough to get that Skeleton dress from the Witching Hour collection!
