Kate Bosworth in Topshop Festival

If any of you saw the looks that Kate Bosworth wore during Coachella,  then you’ll be interested to know that her style will soon be available at Topshop.  Topshop is launching a multi-dimensional celebration of the British attitude and energy towards festival style through all its stores and digital platforms globally.   Taking a page from the Burberry playbook, Topshop will use music as a cool hook to entice consumers to look at their fashion offerings.  Coachella has become a fashion showcase over the last few years, with attendees Instagramming their hippie style looks to share. To trade on that Coachella cache, the Topshop in house design team worked with Kate Bosworth to 16 signature pieces based on Kate’s personal style.  The collection will be paired with live ‘secret pop-up gigs’ from the newest and coolest artists on i-tunes as well as established acts. The gigs will take place at secret locations all over the world, invitations will be given randomly to customers shopping on tablet, mobile and in store as a surprise and a thank you. There will also be a series of online competitions and clues that customers can follow to win tickets.   Bottom line, to win you must shop and buy.

How did Topshop come up with this campaign and collection? According to  Kate Phelan, Topshop Creative Director it is the result of a brainstorming session between her & Kate Bosworth.  “Kate and I were discussing the summer trends and how she had been one of our inspirations, she was here working with us on our Christmas project – the next day Kate came in with all these incredible images and references and shared what her ultimate festival outfits looked like. It is an organic extension of Kate’s fashion sense aligned with the Topshop brand,” say Ms. Phelan.

Watch this space for the official launch via a film  called “The Road to Coachella” on Topshop.com plus special apps and giveaways.  I’ll keep you posted as this evolves.
