TJ Maxx Style: Black and White Trends

Model in Black & White from TJ Maxx

Recently, I took on a challenge from TJ Maxx to take $100.00 and go shop like a Maxxinista and always a Recessionista.  TJ Maxx asked me to take style inspiration from another blogger photo and make it my own.  I really like the current black and white trend, because it’s classic.  TJ MAXX Finds Style Scout and  photographer Amy Creyer of Chicago Street Style  found a classic designer black and white jacket (see above) at TJ Maxx for about half of its retail price of $360.00.  The TJ Maxx price was approximately $179.00.  I took my $100.00 and went to TJ Maxx to channel the Chanel black and white vibe, and here’s what I found.

TJ MAXX Finds: Shoes

For $100.00 I bought a classic little black dress from a famous name brand designer. It took me 3 trips to 3 different TJ Maxx stores to find this treasure. It’s something that I saw years ago in New York at the designer’s famous library (hint, hint)  at a rare presentation. I was thrilled to find it for much less than the retail price. I paid $50.00 for it. I complemented the dress with a pair of open toe, black & white platforms that look very vintage style to me.  The shoes were $50.00 , so the two items together totaled $100.00. Voila, that’s my black and white spring/summer evening cocktail look on a budget.

Look for similar styles at your local TJ Maxx and let me know what you find.
