The summer is half-way over and it’s most time to go back to school.  In the retail world that means it’s time to clear out one set of inventory and make way for new stuff. If you’re headed to BlogHer13 in Chicago this week (and I am) you may want to check out these sales to help you get ready with comfortable and affordable conference fashions.  Here’s what’s on The Recessionista’s Radar for fabuless summer styles:

Maxi Dresses:  Shopping Club Ideeli is having a great saving on Summer Maxi dresses offering some great dresses for under $20.00.  There are also some great deals on designers like Catherine Malandrino on the site.  It’s so hot this summer that Maxi dresses have become my go-to wardrobe item.   To shop the Ideeli sale, join Ideeli using my invite

The Nordstrom#Nsale: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing.   There are great savings on Women’s, Men’s and Children’s fashions plus great discounts on beauty brands.  Shop NORDSTROM Anniversary Sale Beauty Exclusives. Plus, get free shipping and free returns on every order. The sale is on until August 5th, so grab the bargains while you can.  Check my Nordstrom NSale Pin Board to see some of my favorite sale items.

Wallis Fashion

Wallis Fashion Blogger Picks from their Summer Style contest

Wallis Fashion is having a great online summer clearance sale featuring maxi dress, colorful tunics and tops for under $25.00.  If you haven’t heard about Wallis, they are a UK retailer owned by the same parent company as Topshop.   If you’re heading to BlogHer13 this week, ask me about Wallis Fashion.   Several top bloggers have Wallis Fashion entries in the Wallis Miraval MeTime contest. If you’re looking for summer fashion ideas, check out their boards for summer styles and then vote for you favorite.  The contest runs through July 31th on Wallis’ Facebook page.

Pursecase:  If you’re looking for a great iPhone case that doubles as a fashion accessory, you’ll want to check out the colorful Pursecases that look like a designer handbag.   Read my previous post on Pursecase to get an overview.   For readers of The Recessionista, you can save 10% on Pursecase with the code PURSECASEVIP.  Just enter the code at check-out.

Target Style:  Target is having big sales.  Look for Mossimo maxi dresses,Merona items and Converse dresses on sale.   Other great items on the Target Racks for summer style include the Vera Scarves, Sonia Kashuk’s Limited Edition Kits (thanks for the tip Target Addict), Kate Young for Target cocktail dresses and Sam & Libby Shoes.  If you’re traveling to BlogHer or anywhere else, pick up the Umberto Beverly Hills  Hair Volumizing Target Travel Set.   I recently got to sample all the Umberto products, and these are quality products, made in California.  The shampoos are Sulfate free and gentle on your hair.

Kohl’s: Kohl’s is having a big summer clearance sale.   There are savings on fashion brands like Vera Wang, Dana Buchman, Lauren Conrad (great maxi dresses)  and J. Lo.  I bought my little niece some back to school items like Mud jeans, Candies tops and Rock n’ Republic shoes.  If you’re looking for a good deal on comfortable shoes. check out the Nike Comfortable Thong  sandals on sale for $27.00.  These shoes help with swollen summer feet since they are completely open and not restricting.   The cushioning on the sole is like a little pillow.

Other sales you may want to check out : Macy’s, ASOS , Topshop.Missguided and H&M all have clearance sales on at the moment.  What are you shopping for at the sales? If’ you’re headed to BlogHer are you stocking up on Maxi dresses and comfy shoes?
