Target is collaborating with Finnish design house Marimekko

Target has announced a collaboration with Finnish design house Marimekko to bring Marimekko to Target stores starting April 17th.  This collaboration could be a home run for Target after a somewhat lukewarm reception to their “Who What Wear”  fashion collaboration.  When H&M collaborated with Marimekko several years ago the collection was a sellout. Banana Republic’s Marimekko collection was also a success. Target reports that most items in the forthcoming collection will be under $50.00.  As with the Target Liberty of London collection, Target for Marimekko will included housewares, fashions for the whole family and specialty items like a paddle board that will be priced at $499.00.

According to Target” Marimekko for Target  will offer  more than 200 playful, print-centric pieces that span outdoor décor, furniture and entertaining essentials, as well as beach and swimwear for women and girls. Standout items include the paddle board, inflatables, hammocks and swimsuits. The collection also features a number of firsts for Marimekko, including the bocce ball sets and parachutes. “
