My Labor Day Sale Picks…So Far

By  |

Happy Sunday readers! It seems like every retailer and website on the planet is having a sale today in celebration of the US Labor Day weekend and summer clearances. So, some questions have come in over this weekend from readers about what I am personally buying this weekend. So here is my little list of needful things. 🙂

A Fashion’s Night Out T-shirt-– I wanted to support the efforts of all the designers who will be participating in the 9/10 Fashion’s Night Out events in NYC. Also, I think the T-shirt is adorable with it’s cheerful New York City scape. It’s low cost $30.00 price tag benefits a worthy cause. Forty percent of the proceeds of the shirt will be donated to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. The shirt is a team effort from Vogue, CFDA, the City of New York, and NYC & Company as part of an initiative to promote local retail and stimulate the economy. Thus, began my quest to find the Shirt online. This was not an easy task, as some online outlets are already sold out! Apparently, I am not the only one who loves this shirt. I finally found the shirt at Neiman Marcus online. While on the Neiman’s site, I took a look at the Last Call sale, some good bargains there.

DKNY Jeans at the Macy’s Denim sale– I love my DKNY jeans because they have stretch built in. Stretch translates to comfortable wearing and sitting. I own several pairs of these jeans, and two have just been worn out due to repeat wearing and numerous washing. Ordinarily, DKNY Soho Jeans retail for $48.00 US. Today at Macy’s, they are part of the store wide sale. I’m going to try to double dip on the jeans with my Macy’s Savings Pass, their Denim discount ($10.00 off), and even their website order discount. By buying at Macy’s this weekend, I will get the jeans for much less than their retail price.

My final pick is the Loehmann’s clearance. Any time a store advertises fashion and accessories on sale for $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 and even $15.00, I hear the siren’s call. I’ll be spelunking for bargains on the sales racks looking for the red, purple and yellow sticker items. Remember, the colored sticker indicates clearance price.

These are my Sunday Savvy personal picks. But of course, tomorrow is another day of shopping and saving in the big city! 🙂 What’s on your Sunday Savvy list of Labor Day deals? Do you have a list?
