Stella McCartney for Less: Gap Kids and Loehmann’s for Women

Lately, the divine designs of Stella McCartney have been very much on my mind. That’s because I splurged yesterday on one of her gorgeous dresses for gasp, $1,000 off of retail at the Loehmann’s Beverly Hills store. And, although it was still pricey, I did get an additional discount using my new Loehmann’s Gold Card. I didn’t realize that the Gold Card, which is a one time cost of $25.00, entitles you to 10% off your purchases. Click here for the details. Below is my new treasure.

So now I have a solution to the problem of finding Stella for a bit less 🙂 But what about my niece the Recession-niecesta? Good news for her. Stella’s line for Gap kids is about to launch next month, just in time for the holidays. The first pictures just launched in W Magazine and on the Nitrolicious Blog. The clothes are traditional, lovely and playful like children’s wear was meant to be. I am so ov-ah these clothes for kids that look like something Britney Spears would wear in one of her stage shows. The Recession-niecesta does not need to be dressing like she is getting ready to attend reform school or a rave party instead of going to grade school. And the new Stella for Gap collection fits the bill. The line includes little girl princess items like a tulle skirt for the inner ballerina and practical pea coats too. I can definitely see some of these clothes under the Christmas tree. The limited collection will be available at Gap stores in the UK, France, Japan, the U.S. and Canada. Below are the some of the pictures.

Stella McCartney notes, “For years now I’ve wanted to create a collection for kids, it’s something I’ve often been asked about. I believe that this one off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney brand. I believe that kids clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate. It’s really exciting for us to do a boys and girls collection for the first time.” The collection will be carried in stores and online in November 2009.

Psst, Gap, any chance of getting Stella to do an adult line? H&M can you call Stella to come back? I loved Stella for H&M and paid dearly for it on eBay or by bribing friends in NY.
Loehmann’s, good job , keep stocking Stella!
