Social Media Savings: American Express Offers Twitter Users Savings for Tweeting Deals

By  |

If you’re on Twitter, you may have noticed that American Express @AmericanExpress has started a new promotion to allow users to save by syncing their American Express card number/account with their Twitter ID.  How does this work? Well, I signed up this morning to find out. Basically, you’ll get savings when you Tweet with the hashtag that has been assigned to a specific deal.  To find out the deals on offer, the best way is to follow the @AmericanExpress Twitter ID.

I like to do a little shopping at H&M, so I tweeted this deal:

Tweet #AmexHM, get $10 back 1x on next $50+ purch in US stores w/synced Amex Card! (Exp 4/30) See terms http://aexp.co/Ox1.

If you are a Whole Foods shopper, you might be interested in getting some savings at Whole Foods by using hashtag #AmexWholeFoods.   To get the deals, just remember you must sync your Twitter account with your American Express card number by clicking here to fill out the form.   You must sync your account with your card, before you start Tweeting with the hashtags to get the deals.  As an avid Social Media user, I like this. For me, it’s easier than clipping coupons, because I am on the computer and Internet all day.  I think most of us are now, right? Why not save a little while Tweeting? Sounds good to me.  I’ll let you know how it works out. I’m still looking for those illusive H&M Marni returns. Wish me luck!
