Eat it Shahs of Sunset, I love me my H&M.  Don’t you ever look down at my fashion provider you classless bunch of reality TV fashion despots.   How many of you saw the new Bravo reality show the Shahs of Sunset, and the conversation where one of the women was so upset that another woman would think she would be wearing a dress from H&M?  Is that the worse thing anyone could be wearing, a dress from H&M? I would take the accusation of wearing H&M as the highest compliment.  The money I am saving is going into my 401k Shah sis-tahs.

If anyone ever doubted just how great looking H&M can be, then they need to check out the new Conscious initiative from H&M. The firm has  created an exclusive collection of red-carpet looks, all made from  sustainable materials such as organic cotton and hemp as well as recycled polyester.  I love that something beautiful has been made by recycling. Reusing clothes saves our planet and stops the dumping of old clothes in landfills.  How cool is that?

Being the savvy marketers they are, H&M has already created buzz for the collection by giving pieces to the Hollywood community to show off.   Here’s a little list of some of the people who have been seen slumming in H&M, away from the wrathful fashion watch of the Shahs of Sunset cast. Amanda Seyfried wore the blue tuxedo blazer and shorts at a London premiere, while Oscar nominee Viola Davis has been seen in the hot-pink sleeveless top and skirt. Kristin Davis wore the apple green embroidered dress to a Vanity Fair event, and Michelle Williams wore an H&M custom-made gold-draped organic cotton bodice with a satin-backed crepe trumpet skirt at this year’s BAFTAs in London.  Look for the  top and skirt inspired by Michelle’s exclusive gown (see above) to be available in selected H&M stores when the Exclusive Conscious collection is launched.  The collection will be available from April 12 in around 100 stores H&M worldwide, as well as selected looks on-line.

Wise up reality star fashion pretenders, frugal is the new black and H&M rocks.  The entire staff at The Recessionista HQ (me, myself & I) love them.
