Schiaparelli Style to Return to the Runways in July

Schiaparelli Recessionista Style: Camrose & Kross earrings & LOFT necklace

The New York Times reports that the unique, and sometimes quirky, style of designer Elsa Schiaparelli will return to the runway in July.   Designer Christian Lacroix will design a special collection for the newly restarted Schiaparelli label, to be shown during the July haute couture shows in Paris.  The collection will consist of 15 looks in the Schiaparelli style, presented at 21 Place Vendôme.  While the fashion world waits for Schiaparelli couture to return, some recessionista priced costume jewelry inspired by the late great designer is available now.  Schiaparelli’s vintage style, is apparent in some affordably priced jewelry from Camrose & Kross.  The morning mist bracelet & earrings from Camrose & Kross are based on original Schiaparelli designs.  Jackie Kennedy’s mother, Mrs. Hugh Auchincloss,  owned a pair of earrings and a bracelet from the House of Schiaparelli.  She bought the stunning pieces during the depression in Paris and later gifted them to her daughter for her incredible jewelry collection.

Camrose & Kross  reproduced the Elsa Schiaparelli  inspired  morning mist bracelet, earrings and brooch for their Jacqueline Kennedy collection. I can’t wait to see the 15 piece collection from LaCroix. In her lifetime Schiaparelli  was overshadowed by Chanel.   It will be great to see her design presence return to the runway in style.  I hope her granddaughter model/actress Marisa Berenson will attend.
