Saturday Sales Round-Up: More than Fashion

By  |

Happy Saturday to Recessionistas around the globe! I’m back home in Los Angeles, Ca and refueling with a big cuppa some cheap and cheerful coffee. This stuff is amazing: Don Francisco Colombian. I brought it at my local grocer using a coupon, and it’s delicious. If you see it tomorrow in your Sunday paper, be sure and do a clip n’ save on the coupon.

So, I’m looking around the net this am, and finding some deals of interest that I want to pass along to my dear readers. First up, shopping club Haute Look is selling more than fashion. They are now selling items for enjoying a grand lifestyle at home. To my delight, they are offering item’s from Food Channel chef Jamie Oliver. The sale offers knives, glasses, cutting boards, and even storage containers. If you’re like me, doing more cooking and entertaining at home right now, you’ll want to check this out. Then cruise over to the Food Network website and pick up some of Jamie’s recipes for free. My particular favorite is his chicken in milk, flavored with sage and lemon. It’s easy to make and just a few dollars a serving. If you need plates, Jamie’s plates are also on sale at Haute Look today.

While you’re at Haute Look, you might also want to check out the Robert Rodriguez sale on his stylish fashions. For an evening of elegance, pick up a beautiful top or sweater from Robert Rodriguez. I have my eye on this Wisteria Kimono sweater.

For solid comfort, check out the James Perse and White+Warren items on sale at Gilt Groupe today. I just wore a James Perse dress out for a special event, and it was so comfortable and traveled so well, that I highly recommend it. Always look for James Perse on sale via a shopping club like Gilt, as it can be pricey. Click here to join Gilt and shop as my guest.

And now for my final chic n’cheap weekend tips. Big box store Walmart continues to amaze me. First, they bought on the fabulous Norma Kamali line, now, another sale has turned up on my Recessionista Radar tracking system. Apparently, they have been selling a low-priced line from BCBG Max Azaria for over a year. Who knew? I’ve never seen it at the store. I’ve been buying BCBG at department stores or shopping clubs like RueLaLa.com when they have sales. The Walmart line is called To the Max. Here’s a link to the entire line, and most of it is now clearance priced.
I saw fellow blogger, The Budget Babe had already made tracks to her local Walmart to pick-up one of the dresses, so I had to check it out.

I couldn’t resist ordering the aboved 3/4 sleeve knit dress in ink for only $15.00. We’ll see what it’s like when it arrives in the mail.
From the online pictures, it’s really great looking with lots of detail around the bodice.

Last deal, Overstock.com is offering a $30.00 rebate on Cannon digital cameras. Shipping is International. You might want to check it out.

Clearly, the savings are out there. And for free stuff, don’t forget, today is the last day to enter our giveaway for the City Chic book. Click here to enter! Good luck, and Happy Saturday!
