The Recessionista’s Weekly Round-up!

Pictured: One King’s Lane has an amazing sale on vintage fashion books going on this weekend.

After another long hard week of working, it’s good to reflect on some fantasy fashion and shopping.  At least for me, I always find the escape a relaxing one.  Here’s what’s on my shopping radar this weekend.

  • Tesco UK announced their version of Kate Middleton’s Shola dress from Reiss. The Florence and Fred Limited Edition bandage style dress will hit stores next month for the price of  £30.
  • Shopping club Ideeli is about to kick off a sale for Dads or new graduates (either high school or college).  On Monday, June 6 Ideeli will be offering a selection of gifts the newly-minted graduate or dear old dad in your life. Everything from Omaha Steaks to nifty gadgets to spa and restaurant experiences. Click here to use my invite to shop Ideeli.
  • One Kings Lane is offering a selection of fashion coffee table books on sale today. Top New York antiques dealer David Duncan is launching a sale of more than 250 exquisite books from his private collection on One Kings Lane which will run from Saturday, June 4 to Tuesday June 7. The sale includes many rare fashion titles — all at discounted prices.  Fashion books are one of my favorite ways to pass a lazy weekend afternoon.  I’m lusting for the special edition book  on designer Poiret, but I wish it wasn’t over $700.00!!  I was thinking of buying one of the books by Lady Diana Cooper (The Light of Common Day) until I discovered it was free for download on the Internet.
  • Derek Lam is still selling his collection on eBay, and I regret to say that I returned the sixth dress that I was so excited to find via the eBay Fashion iPod App.  I wasn’t a good fit for me, especially for the $125.00 price tag.
  • Website Bluefly is having a designer clearancewith prices up to 65% off.   There are a few good deals there on top brands.

Enjoy the weekend readers, and leave a comment if you have any good deals to share!
