Every now and then something surprisingly tasteful and economical turns up on the red carpet. This week while browsing People StyleWatch I spotted two amazing good deals from TopShop.  Above is Kate Bosworth at an event for Tod’s sporting a $65.00 (US) TopShop Little Black Dress. How good is that? It looks really classy with the discreet black pumps and I’m guessing a much, much more expensive Ivory clutch bag.  Below is a shot of just the dress up close and it does not disappoint. The shoulders remind me a bit of a much more expensive Roland Mouret dress.

The other look for less I love is this floral appliqué blouse worn this week by Amanda Seyfried.  I’ve seen more expensive versions at the Armani boutique and other upscale clothiers.  Check out the blouse on Amanda, it’s so understated and feminine. No jewelry is required, as the blouse makes the statement.

Surprise! The blouse is also from TopShop and retails for $90.00 US.   Here’s a closer look at just the shirt with all the details. I love the trim on the neckline for finishing.

I’m not saying that everything at TopShop is tip top quality, you know if you shop there that you need to weed through all the merchandise carefully for the best quality for price. Their prices are higher than competitors like H&M or New Look, but when it’s good its good, and this Little Black Dress and appliqué blouse are two standouts. Remember, to check their annual sale for deals.
