Burberry Unveils Fall 2015 Fashion Campaign

Burberry today unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign, introducing the latest additions to its Burberry Family.  Generally, I enjoy every new Burberry campaign from both a marketing and a fashion perspective–they do a great job on every aspect from the clothes, to the photography, the music, the videos and the social media. The quality of the clothing and the handbags also remains very good in a time where so many fashion brands have cut back with the result of producing inferior product.  The campaign, shot under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey presents a cast of 12 young British actors, musicians and models, marking the first Burberry campaign for the majority of the cast. One of the more notable members of the cast is Rolling Stone Keith Richards’ granddaughter Ella Richards.  Ella is the daughter of photographer Marlon Richards. The campaign was shot by Mario Testino in London’s iconic St James’s area. Continue reading »

Jessica Alba’s Honest Company is expanding into the multi-millionaire dollar beauty market.  The news comes via an announcement on the Actress/Entrepreneur’s Instagram page where Jessica stated, “Something big is coming soon! And as Honest members, we want you to be one of the first to join our extended family.”  Stay tuned, Honest Beauty is forecast for Fall 2015.

Beauty Review: Physicians Formula City Bronzers


Physician’s Formula Makeup has new City Bronzers for Summer with shades of New York City and Paris.

Physicians Formula sent me their new City Bronzers to use and review. When I opened the box and saw the imprints of two of my favorite cities (New York and Paris) on the bronzer powders, I fell in love. The packagings is genius. But this isn’t a product with just great packaging, these bronzers deliver and they are organic.  For the past year, I’ve been on a gluten-free diet, and I’ve received so many benefits from it–including reduced arthritis pain and inflammation.  So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover these products are gluten-free, paraben free, fragrance free, oil free and Dermatologist approved.   That’s one of the things I loved about Physicians Formula, the products are gentle on the skin and the work.  Their bronzers have always delivered beautiful color, but the City Bronzers have additional benefits that make them unique, they actually have ingredients to protect your skin for pollution, toxins and the sun’s damaging rays. Online Market Etsy Celebrates Ten Years


Etsy is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary

We love Etsy and we’re  so excited to hear that this unique online market of small business has survived in a challenging economy for 10 years!  If you haven’t shopped Etsy, Inc. , then you should.  It’s an amazing a retail marketplace where people around the world connect, both online and offline, to make, sell and buy unique goods.    I shop on Etsy for Vintage clothing and bought a fabulous Mr. Blackwell little black dress there a few years ago.  The Etsy story is one of true entrepreneurial spirit.  Founded in June 2005 in a Brooklyn apartment, Etsy was born out of the simple idea that a marketplace should exist to connect creative entrepreneurs with thoughtful consumers in search of unique goods.It’s a kind of quirky eBay with small sellers and artists often selling jewelry and goods they’ve made themselves.   Today, more than 1.4 million active sellers and 20.8 million active buyers are participating in the Etsy Economy.  We love how Etsy gives many small business owners the chances to sell online without paying for an expensive website.

True Cost: A New Movie Takes a Tough Look at Fast Fashion


True Cost takes a hard look at overseas sweatshops and the conditions that workers in the garment industry still face

We all love good deals.  But no one wants to get a good deal if they know that it’s harming another human being.   A new documentary call The True Cost, explores the environmental and human impacts of how clothing is currently produced.  The film looks at the conditions that workers labor under to make fashion apparel.  The True Cost is now in theaters in New York and Los Angeles. You can also see the film via  iTunes and other VOD platforms and DVD/Blu-ray.  Tragedies like the Triangle Shirt Factory fire (where garment workers burned to death in New York in 1911 ) are still happening, they are just more likely to happen in India now, not the United States.   The True Cost movie tells the story of today’s garment workers and the often horrible conditions they labor under, like sandblasting of jeans leading to death or fires in Bangladesh factories where workers are unable to get out. eBates Survey: What Dad Really Wants for Father’s Day

When I was growing up and shopping for my Dad on Father’s Day, he made it very clear to me that he most emphatically did NOT want shirts, neckties or shoes. “Please don’t’ buy me any clothes, ” he would proclaim before every Father’s Day.  But times have changed and a new survey from discount shopping site eBates proclaims that it’s ok to buy Dad clothes this Father’s Day  ( June 21, 2015.)  According to eBates, Dad will be happy with a Father’s Day gift of  Bermuda shorts and, even the once dreaded necktie.  How does eBates know this?  They did a survey of 1,024 adults (over the age of 18) to ask men what they wanted for Father’s Day 2015.  Here’s what’s on top of the list and what you might want to shop for this week.

Singer Foxes featured in H&M Divided Fall 2015 campaign

H&M is doing another collaboration with a pop-star. British singer-songwriter and Grammy Award winner, Foxes, has been announced as the face of a new H&M Divided fall 2015 campaign launching this July. The campaign, shot in Los Angeles, features Foxes wearing a  mix of grunge inspired essentials: bomber jackets, varsity sweatshirts, graphic T-shirts, miniskirts, and bootcut jeans.  It goes without saying that the campaign is aimed at teens.   Divided is H&M’s Junior line.  Look for the collection at  select H&M stores worldwide, as well as online, beginning mid-July. Review: Givenchy Gentlemen Only Fragrances


If you’re looking for a great Father’s Day gift, consider the Givenchy Gentlemen Only Fragrances

Luxury brand Givenchy has released new men’s fragrances under the brand name “Gentlemen Only” that are beyond delicious. How good are they? Well, if I could I would wear the Givenchy Gentlemen Only Intense fragrance myself.  And that is the 1st time I have ever thought that about a men’s fragrance!  Most men’s fragrances smell as if they are designed to just cover up something that smells bad by having an overpowering scent.  That is not the case with the three fragrances in the Gentlemen Only family from Givenchy.   I recently bought the Intense fragrance for a special friend and he loved it too.Givenchy describes the fragrance as woody and aromatic.  To me, it’s a light scent that is very fresh with hints of cardamon, pepper and citrus (mandarin.)  If you’re looking for a reasonably priced (under $100.00) Father’s Day gift check out ‘Gentlemen Only Intense’ Eau de Toilette at Nordstrom’s or Sephora.
