Banana Republic is launching another great collaboration, this time with the iconic Finnish design house Marimekko. Why should Target with their Peter Pilotto collection have all the colorful prints for spring? The Banana Republic Marimekko Collection – a limited-edition capsule promises to offer dresses, separates and accessories for women. We’ve been lusting for more discount Marrimekko since the company did a collaboration with H&M a few years ago. Look for the collection at select Banana Republic locations worldwide and online beginning in late May 2014. The Marimeko for Banana apparel will include misses & petites sizes. Prices will range from $39.50 (tank top) – $140 (dress) with accessories ranging from $39.50 for a clutch to $98 for shoes.
Target is offering 20% off early bird shopping on spring fashions. This is clearly an attempt to move fashions designed for warmer temperatures, despite the polar vortex still sweeping across the US. The deal applies to womens’, mens, kids and baby wear. The deal includes Target’s selection of wear to work dresses including selections from Merona, Mossimo and Liz Lange. If you shop online, Target will sweeten the deal with free shipping on orders over $50.00.
Singer Taylor Swift was spotted this week wearing an inexpensive dress black and white polka dot dress from H&M. The dress has been selling out swiftly at H&M online, but there are still a few left polka dot in small sizes online. The cotton/spandex blend dress is still available in all sizes in red and grey, great winter colors. The dress is made of comfortable jersey material and is in the vintage style that the singer has favored for some time. Continue reading
QVC is getting read for their annual Oscar Red Carpet event coming up on air Friday, February 28 from 9 PM to midnight (ET). The list of fashion designers and beauty brands that will be offering new items for sale on QVC is impressive. We spoke to QVC today and frankly, the preview pictures of what will go on sale Feb. 28th are jaw-dropping. The fashions are some of the best I’ve ever seen from the discount TV /online retailer, although the prices are higher perhaps as a result. Fashion designers Lori Goldstein, Dennis Basso, Mark Zunino, Bob Mackie and Isaac Mizrahi will be on air to show off new creations to QVC customers. QVC regulars and celeb designers Nicole Richie and Lisa Rinna will also be on hand along with celebrity stylist Jen Rade. Continue reading
The armpit. We don’t want to talk about it. Hence the phrase “it’s the pits.” The armpit is an often ignored part of our beauty routine or any expert’s laundry list of beauty tips. Dove is working with Today Show style expert Bobbie Thomas to change all that by reminding women to care for their underarm skin like they would any other body part. Beauty and style expert Bobbie Thomas was here in Los Angeles last week for a pre-Valentines Day special event at The Grove mall to talk about New Dove Advanced Care Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant with NutriumMoisture (warning don’t try to say that name 3 times fast!) Dove was at The Grove mall with an onsite spa offering women “PitiCure” treatments to exfoliate and moisturize those often neglected armpits. I had the chance to talk to Bobbie Thomas at the event to find out why caring for under arm skin is important. Continue reading
Gap is getting real, literally with their new ‘Lived-In’ campaign. The campaign is aptly titled as most of us live in our jeans and casual clothes. The campaign featuring emerging artists modeling for the Gap. This campaign is a fitting follow-up to the Gap “Black to Blue” commercials featuring young musicians Alex Ray Joel and Dhani Harrison. If you haven’t checked out the Gap lately, this campaign might help to lure you in. Gap needs a boost after the departure of Patrick Robinson. I haven’t bought anything at Gap since he left. (Robinson is now at Armani Exchange.) In my humble opinion, it’s time for Gap to reinvent their clothes. They need to get back to leading with their staples like khakis, jeans and plain old cotton tees. Continue reading
