Oscar 2013 Fashion Trends: Pale Shades and Blushes

Red Carpet Rundown: Off-White and Pale Gowns Are Having a Moment

Did any of you notice all the ivory, pink and blush on the red carpet last night at the Oscars/Academy Awards? The Polyvore team has put together a very nice story board to show all the trends.  Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Chastain were just a few of the stars who wore a whiter shade of pale.   We didn’t see as much color this year on the carpet and many style commentators are calling this year’s fashion a bland beauty pageant because of that.   I don’t know about you readers, but I liked many of the pale gowns, particularly Anne Hathaway’s Prada gown with the cute tie in the back.

Jane Fonda was one of the few to wear an eye popping color in her yellow Versace gown.  At age 75, Ms. Fonda looked dazzling in her bright yellow gown accessorized by Chopard jewels, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Claire clutch.   As always, Ms. Fonda was a standout.
