An up close close look at the Olukai Momi flats in coral/nubuck leather.

A few months ago, I was invited to a press preview for OluKai shoes in Los Angeles.  I’d never heard of OluKai before receiving the invite to their event.  If you don’t know about these shoes, you’ll want to discover them.  As an arthritis sufferer, good shoes are very important to me.   So many times I’ve sacrificed fashion for comfort and paid the terrible price by experiencing pain when walking in various fashion pumps, flats and even sneakers!  Those cruel shoes are the ones I don’t write about here on The Recessionista.   The shoes I want to recommend to my readers are the ones that look good, but more importantly feel good when you walk and stand in them.  OluKai shoes are high quality for a number of reasons.  I’ve been test driving the shoes for  a number of months and can personally attest to their comfort and style.

For Fall, OluKai offers both fashionable boots and slip on flats. The shoes are top rated on Nordstrom.com

After recent hip surgery, I’ve been doing a daily walking program and physical therapy in my OluKai Momi shoes.  I’ve been pleasantly surprised  at how comfortable the shoes are and how great they are for walking.  I’ve been doing my physical therapy walks in the Women’s “Momi” flat. my physical therapist approves of these cute slip on shoes with their gum rubber sole for enhanced traction. The contoured footbed guarantees comfort and cushions the foot and the joints as you hit the hard concrete.   If you read the reviews on Nordstrom and Zappos, you can see that OluKai shoes are regularly top rated by customers.

Please note, I am not paid by OluKai to write about their shoes, but I did receive the Momi shoes from Olukai as a gift for evaluation.  Since learning about this quality brand, I will be investing in more OluKai shoes.  The brand’s collection features shoes for both men and women, including stylish boots for fall, leather flip flops for warm weather wear, slip-on leather sneakers, and even cute shoes for kids.   If you’re tired of hobbling in fashion shoes, have a look at Olukai.  Trust me, you feet and your joints will feel relief every time your foot touches down on the pavement.
