Today I slogged through snow, ice and bracing winds to head to Lincoln Center in New York City for New York Fashion Week. This year is definitely more work than it’s been in the past as a blizzard/snow storm known as Nemo is pounding New York.  At certain points during the day ice and rain were leaking through the tents, yet the show went on.  With the exception of Marc Jacobs, no designers have yet postponed shows.  Everyone is doing they best they can under the circumstances. It’s an admirable effect under a severe weather conditions.

Tonight I tuned in to David Letterman on The Late Show to hear him making cracks about New York Fashion Week.  “It’s that time of the year,” said Dave, ” When New York has bitches coming & going.”   Whoa…Dave, lay off the bitches.   In the word of Tina Faye,  “Bitches Get Stuff Done!” Bitches make it work, who else could rock a blizzard?  We might be wearing parkas and sensible shoes , but we’re making it work.  This ain’t now baseball game where things get rained out.  The show must go on.
