If you watched the Democratic National Convention tonight, then you know that Michelle Obama rocked the house.  She looked fashionable and she spoke eloquently.  The Twitter switchboard light up with questions about what Mrs. Obama was wearing tonight.  Well, it’s been confirmed that the divine Mrs. O wore a custom made Tracy Reese dress.  The designer confirmed the dress was hers via Twitter. Thanks everyone for sharing this amazing moment! We are all so grateful and honored to have dressed Mrs. Obama for such a momentous speech!!“, tweeted Tracy Reese. Ms. Reese has long been a favorite of Mrs. Obama, so it’s not a huge surprise that she turned up in one of her favorites at this important convention.  Mrs. O likes the designer’s comfortable style and accessible prices. The dress Michelle Obama wore last night was a Tracy Reese Silk Jacquard Combo Frock in Abstract Baroque Wallpaper Print. The dress is night yet in store, but my spies tell me that when it is available it will retail for less than $500.00 US.

Although the dress Mrs. O wore was custom made, there are similar dresses like hers to be found on the Tracy Reese website.  The hour glass wild rose dress is now on sale for $148.00, but I don’t think it will last long.

If you like the First Lady’s’ look, call the Tracy Reese flagship store in NYC or check your local Nordstrom’s sale rack for similar styles.  I wouldn’t be surprised if TracyReese.com experiences heavy website traffic tomorrow judging by all the favorite comments on the dress on Twitter!  Click here to get a peek of what Tracy Reese is planning for New York Fashion Week. Tracy Reese is gearing up to show her Spring 2013 collection on Sunday, Sept. 9.
