Hot on the heels of all the Hollywood glamour at the Golden Globes, Lancome has announced plans for a new cosmetic line.  Lancome is collaborating with one of the most highly-acclaimed names in fashion: Alber Elbaz, the designer for Lanvin.  The beauty products will be available June 15, 2013.

This is a surprise move for Lancome in my opinion.  Alber Elbaz is known for his quirky but still haute couture style.  While the Lanvin designer is know for luxury collections, they always have a  contemporary twist.  Some of his designs are playful and almost cheeky.  I could see the Lancome case having a big lash on it winking at shoppers.

“Alber Elbaz is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most influential fashion designers. But beyond that, he is also the most talented,” explains Youcef S. Nabi, Lancome President. “His sense of luxury, his vision of femininity and that hint of audacity resonate perfectly with the new values of the Maison Lancome. We are extremely proud and happy that, with us, he is set to channel his universe into the world of make-up for the very first time.”

Watch this space for details on the  Lancome x Alber Elbaz collection which will be unveiled worldwide on June 15, 2013!  The Lanvin for H&M line was a complete sell out, so I am sure Lancome hopes some of that magic will rub off on Lancome x.
