Did you know that J Crew is now selling wedding dresses? I had no idea until I was in New York last week for BlogHer.  Yes, J Crew has now opened a wedding boutique on Madison Ave and online.  My good friend Jorli has already shopped the boutique and gave it a rave.  She chose the above silk chiffon Thea dress for $700.00 US.  Although $700.00 is not cheap, wedding dresses typically retail for much, much more. Witness Chelsea Clinton’s recent Vera Wang wedding dress which cost an estimated $20,000!  In contrast, the J Crew bridal boutique offers tasteful   dresses in classic patterns, priced between $229 and $3,500. The boutique and online store both offers makeup, perfumes, headpieces, sweaters, jackets and pants for before and after wedding events. I took a tour of the online boutique and it does indeed appear to be one-stop wedding shopping with outfits for the groom, groomsmen, bridesmaids, ring bearers and flower girls.  If you’re a bride on a budget, or not, you might want to give it  a look.  One thing I do like about the overall J Crew line is the tastefulness of the designs and the draping of the fabrics. Mrs. Obama seems to agree.  Remember how she complimented her Isabel Toledo dress with J Crew gloves for the swearing in ceremony?
