Michelle Obama surprised many stylists and fashion editors tonight by choosing American designer Jason Wu again for her second inaugural ball gown.  She looked very glamorous in the red, belted halter top gown, which highlighted her toned arms and new hair.  As the President said, Michelle Obama’s hair was the biggest news of the Inauguration.

Jill Biden looked equally glamorous in a purple satin Vera Wang gown.  “What a joy, honor and privilege to have dressed Dr. Jill Biden for tonight’s Inauguration. A beautiful, spirited, accomplished woman!” tweeted Vera Wang.   Ms. Wang has been tweeting all night with highlights from the Inaugural balls @VeraWangGang. I’ve enjoyed her commentary.

Although she doesn’t get as much media attention as Mrs. O. Dr. Jill Biden looked gorgeous both before and after the swearing in.  For the swearing in, she wore a a dress and coat by American designer, Lela Rose.  The Twittersphere lit up with compliments today for Jill Biden’s Lela Rose coat with the big bow.  The designer responded to the compliments noting, “Thank you, she wears it well, #flawless.” from the @Lela_Rose Twitter account.  I couldn’t agree more!

Jill Biden’s Lela Rose coat is available for sale now at Lela Rose’s Dallas store and Neiman Marcus.
