Marant H&M

Haute news! H&M has  announced their next designer collaboration.   Parisian designer Isabel Marant has been chosen to translate her boho-chic designs to affordable H&M fashions.  Isabel Marant is known for her  widely influential and successful take on Parisian chic.  Her clothing is distinctive, but certainly not at outre as the last H&M designer,  Maison Martin Margiela. Ms. Marant’s designs are a little bit funky, but at the same time very feminine and romantic.   Her line mixes urban attitude, boho elegance, and a rock ‘n’ roll spirit to delivering  French style.  For H&M, Isabel Marant will create a wardrobe of must-have pieces inspired by her signature style. The collection will be available and online in 250 stores worldwide on November 14th, 2013, and will feature clothing and accessories for women and teenagers, as well as Isabel Marant’s first-ever collection for men.  Since Isabel Marant’s clothing has always been price , with prices ranging from $500.00 and up, I predict many fashionistas will be drawn to H&M’s lower priced collection. I hope to see a lower-priced version of the designer’s wedge sneakers and print tops at H&M  for less thank $600.00 US.

“I am flattered by this collaboration. H&M works with the best designers, and this invitation is an exciting honor. I aim at creating something real – something women want to wear in their everyday lives – with a certain carefree style. I think this is very Parisian: You dress up, but don’t pay too much attention to it, and you still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be combined following one’s own instincts, and my take on fashion is all about personality,” says Isabel Marant.

Born and raised in Paris, Isabel Marant started customizing her own clothes while still in high school, and is a graduate of the famed Studio Berçot. She worked her way up in the fashion world by starting a line of jewelry; she then added knitwear, and then launched her own collection in 1994. Today, Isabel Marant runs a fashion powerhouse with a chain of boutiques worldwide. Her Parisian chic style – a mix of bohemian tones and masculine tailoring – grows in popularity season after season.  Listen to the designer explain her very French style in this video from H&M.
