Award Season & Special Event Dressing on a Budget

By  |

With the build up to the Oscars this week, many of us are getting ready for viewing parties at home or with friends.  Just in time, Rent the Runway is introducing a nice selection of adorable dresses for rent from designers Trina Turk, Parker and Yumi Kim for just $40.00.  I love both Trina Turk and Parker with their colorful prints.  And to get to try one of their designs for a mere $40.00 is a great deal.   Parker is always so elegant looking, and I like their vintage styles.  The line is still difficult to find in boutiques, so Rent the Runway is a great way to explore this designer at a low prices.  Click here to read my earlier review of Rent the Runway.

Services like Rent the Runway help to make  fashion accessible to the mass market.  If you want to check it out, click here to join the website and browse the goods. You can also join using my referral link.   If you use my link, I receive a referral fee when you rent, and you can also refer your friends and receive a credit to bring the cost of your rental down.  Discount shopping and credits are some of my favorite recessionista tools. 🙂

Another  low priced options for dressing up are the new Kinder Aggugini collection at Macy’s.  I saw Kinder’s show from  London Fashion Week, and the Macy’s collection is true to his design aesthetic and very good looking.  The draping of the dresses is very attractive and comfortable too.   I’m be writing a review of the entire collection soon,  Have any of you seen it in the store? What do you think?
