ASOS Fall 2016 Preview: Holiday Attire + Made in Kenya Collection

Made in Kenya ASOS dresses

My favorite from the ASOS Fall Preview, the Made in Kenya dresses. Gorgeous red, black and white prints.

Amidst hot temperatures in the Hollywood Hills, affordable e-retailer ASOS held a holiday preview at the historic Simon House in the Los Angeles Trousdale estates.   The home was full of a few racks of apparel for men and women coming for this holiday season and fall 2016.

The highlight for me was the red and black graphical print dresses (see above dresses) from ASOS’ forthcoming “Made in Kenya” collection (maybe part of ASOS Africa? )  which is set to launch during the first week of October 2016.  Our spies tell us Made in Kenya will launch on Oct. 6th, although there is nothing about it right now on the ASOS website.

ASOS bomber jackets

ASOS showed some interesting bomber jackets for fall.

There were pretty holiday dresses from ASOS Salon, funky floral suits for men,  recycled clothing from ASOS Reclaimed Vintage collection (similar to H&M’s Conscious Collection) and day dresses.

Later in the evening actress Elle Fanning showed up in a funky ASOS white  jumpsuit.  The blue jumpsuit retails for $120.92 on the ASOS website.

Los Angeles stylist Samantha McMillen hosted celebrity guests Eden XO,  dancer Larsen Thompson and model Shaun Ross who all wore ASOS clothing.  Samantha McMillen wore a simple ASOS little black dress.

This was an interesting event. I don’t think the staff was very interested in the press they had invited, since they had to prepare for their celebrity arrivals.  I’ve tried to best describe what I saw, since ASOS offered no press kit or line sheets.  I was told “everything is on the ASOS website.” Well, it’s not–“Made in Kenya” is not released until next week.  And the ASOS website is impossible to find stuff on.  Some media were offered a dress of their choice from the preview, while other attendees received nothing—just the privilege of spending an afternoon looking at racks of ASOS.

SOS Navy Cold Shoulder Maxi Dress.

An ASOS Navy Cold Shoulder Dress. I’m still looking for this on the ASOS website.

I’m posting this post because I do like the clothing ASOS showed and I think some of my readers might be interested. There are no ASOS stores, so there’s really no chance to preview clothing from ASOS unless an article with pictures is provided.  I can’t offer any opinions on the fit of the clothing or the quality as there simply wasn’t an opportunity to look closely at anything or try anything.
