Travel: AKA Beverly Hills Offers Luxury Stays for Award Season

AKA Beverly Hills

The exterior of the AKA Beverly Hills – a luxury temporary home away from home.

AKA Beverly Hills is a discreet luxury residence located in the heart of Beverly Hills, but you don’t have to be a Real Housewife or a celebrity to enjoy the serenity and creature comforts that this luxury residence affords. Recently, I had the good fortune to be treated to tour of AKA Beverly Hills. The luxury residence offers comfortable, furnished apartments with full gourmet kitchens, dining areas, living rooms with fireplaces as well as beautifully appointed bedrooms. But the attractions don’t stop with the accommodations, during the entertainment industry’s “Award Season” which kicks off with the upcoming Golden Globes and culminates with the Academy Awards.

AKA Beverly Hills features 88 stylish and fully furnished one- and two-bedroom suites and townhouses, ranging in size from 815 to 1,810 square feet. The townhouses have their own entrances facing N. Crescent Drive.   The residence is discreet–without the typical signage that many hotels have. There are no flashing signs or bright lights advertising the residence.  AKA Beverly Hills resembles the street front of many private residences in New York.  Inside, the accommodations are lux, but the decor is not over the top.  The design and furnishings are a kind of minimalist chic.

Guests at AKA Beverly Hills can enjoy private dining from Wolfgang Puck’s award winning (and very delicious) Spago and access to the amazing Tomoko Spa  (I can attest to the great massages at Tomoko spa.)  The Beverly Hills venue also features a private screening room equipped with 20 oversized leather reclining seats and a Stewart Filmscreen Deluxe screen spanning 133 inches.  Some of the world’s best shopping on Rodeo Drive is only a few steps away.

Healthy cuisine from Spago is one of the attractions of the AKA Beverly Hills.

If business or award season, or even the need to rest and recharge, calls you to Los Angeles, you’ll want to check out the AKA Beverly Hills’ newly announced wellness package know as the “AKA Recharge.” What better way to get started on your New Year’s  fitness and health resolutions, than being pampered as you press the restart button in 2016?   Here are the highlights of the Recharge Wellness package currently being offered at AKA Beverly Hills:

  • Healthy eating:  Residents can select healthy items from a Spago’s specialty menu in the comfort of their suite, as well as benefiting from a fully stocked kitchen with preferred healthy produce and snacks.
  • Juicing: Pioneering juice brand, Blueprint, will offer deliveries of their nationally recognized cold press juices to suites.
  • Spa: Tomoko Spa, will provide a special VIP luxury treatment experience that includes a massage, access to the spa’s signature Japanese Ofuro baths, and more.
  • Style: Celebrity styling duo, Kathy Rose and Rick Rose of Roseark, whose clients include Madonna and Marisa Tomei, will offer AKA residents a bespoke head-to-toe fashion styling session from the comfort of an AKA suite, ensuring a selection of looks designed to make the wearer feel impeccable.
  • Fitness: AKA Beverly Hills residents have access to the onsite state-of-the-art fitness center, available 24 hours a day, with room for yoga, meditation, and access to personal trainers.

If you’re reading this, you may be thinking that this all must be very expensive.  You’ll be surprised to learn that AKA rates can be quite affordable and if you’re looking for a short term or monthly stay, AKA is typically more affordable than other Beverly Hills hotels or condo rentals.  Look for competitive rates at AKA on their website as well as travel websites like Trip Advisor  (look for the offer featuring free Grocery delivery) and Booking.com.    AKA offers extended stay residences in New York City, London, Washington DC and Philadelphia.  If you’re a business traveler who needs to be away for home traveling for extended periods, do check out the AKA residences.
