When you dine out this month, look for deals that support No Kid Hungry

Did you know that thousands of kids arrive at their school every day hungry?  That means they haven’t started their day with a meal.  And without a meal in the morning, that makes it tough to focus and concentrate when they arrive at school.  A worthy organization called No Kid Hungry is working to change all that by making sure that hungry children can get feed when they arrive at school.  This week I attended a special lunch (at the amazing The District Restaurant by Hanhah An)  with members of the No Kid Hungry organization sponsored by Citibank, Tyson Foods and the Kellogg Company.  I was shocked to learn 16 million kids in America aren’t getting the food they need.  That’s right, this is happening here in the United States, supposedly the richest country in the world.   The good news is that a donation of $1.00 can provide as many as 10 meals to feed these kids.  And this month, many restaurants and reservation services like OpenTable are joining together to donate to No Kid Hungry to end childhood hunger.
Here’s a few things you can do to help No Kid Hungry provide meals for school children in the US:

When you go out to eat, make your restaurant reservation on OpenTable. This September, thousands of restaurants across the country will team up with No Kid Hungry®to help end childhood hunger in America, one meal at a time. When you dine out and donate at your favorite participating OpenTable restaurant, you’re helping put an end to childhood hunger in the U.S. Join OpenTable and book during September to help hungry kids.  For every reservation made at a participating restaurant between September 1-30, 2015, OpenTable will donate $1 to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, up to a maximum total corporate donation of $50,000. Look for participating restaurants in these states when you make your reservation: CA, DC, FL, GA, IL, NC, NV, NY, or PA only

Border Grill in Santa Monica is serving special No Kid Hungry guacamole this September – $1 from each order helps feed hungry kids!

Host a Meetup at the Corner Bakery and receive No Kid Hungry Swag!

A $1 donation gets you a FREE Bottoms Up Bundt, and $5 or more gets you a book of tasty offers worth over $25! Joe’s Crab Shack:  Get $20.00 of your meal when you donate $10 to No Kid Hungry ;  get $10.00 off when you donate $5.00.

Salata, the nation’s leading salad chain, is joining No Kid Hungry’s national campaign to help end childhood hunger. For its inaugural partnership with the organization, Salata will sell $5 coupon booklets at its 49 locations throughout Texas, California and Illinois, with all proceeds going to No Kid Hungry. Valued at $12, the coupons are redeemable for a variety of free items including premium toppings like avocado, signature drinks and more. For every dollar raised, No Kid Hungry can provide 10 meals to children in need.

Donate to No Kid Hungry Online: Your contribution can help kids get something to eat when they arrive at school.  When kids are feed, they are able to learn.
