Zendaya Channels Marilyn Monroe & Madonna at Teen Choice Awards

Teen star Zendaya Coleman turned heads at the recent Teen Choice Awards in a custom made pink dress by Madonna’s Material Girl clothing line. The affordable junior’s Material Girl clothing line is sold at Macy’s, but sadly, fans won’t be able to buy a copy of Zendaya’s pink Teen Choice dress. The dress was a one of a kind design made for Zendaya.

The dress was inspired by the pink gown that Madonna wore in her Material Girl video.  Madonna’s strapless gown was a homage to the dress Marilyn Monroe wore 1953 movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes while singing Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.

Zendaya’s dress featured a halter keyhole neckline and side cutouts, plus a big pink bow in the back, that tied at the neck.  In contrast Monroe’s original costume by Travilla featured a bow at the back of the dress, tied at the waist.
