Sitting Pretty: A Roland Mouret Dress on the Mannequin at Banana Republic

If you’re wondering if the new Roland Mouret for Banana Republic collection is worth investing in, the answer is yes. The dresses are form fitting but have lots of stretch in them.  They fit like a dream—elegant and slenderizing.  The Midi cut elongates the figure, making us look slim and sleek.  Today was a good day for Banana Republic as many of the dresses immediately sold out  online.  If you’re looking for size and selection, you’ll probably have to visit a Banana Republic store to get your size.  But take heart, there is still Roland Mouret in many Banana stores and in a week, there will probably be returns too.

Dresses from the Roland Mouret for Banana Republic Collection

I found the collection to be cut generously in the hips and then a bit more snug and form fitting at the bodice. So, if you’re a bit chesty, you may want to size up.  There is plenty of stretch in the fabric and the midi-length of most of the dresses gives an extremely flattering silhouette to the wearer.  I bought the Strappy Sheath in Chroma Pink and the Vee Dress.  The color block dresses were all sold out by the time I arrived at the Banana Republic store in at the Grove Los Angeles (after work of course. )  The staff told me the dress sold quickly during the day.    I may try another store to see if I can find one….that’s how much I like this collection.

I’m still thinking about getting the two button jacket, but I have to think about that one a bit more.  I wish Banana Republic had truly rewarded their regular customers with some coupons to shop.   Kohl’s always does that with their collections.

If you’re hunting for Roland Mouret, use the find it in store feature on the Banana Republic website.  This feature worked like a charm for me.  The Grove Los Angeles Banana Republic store put the dresses I wanted aside for me until I could get to the store to pick them up.

If you bought something from the collection, leave me a comment and let me know what your bought and your thoughts! The Recessionista X RMforBR! 🙂
