Next week, I’m heading to Lucky FabbWest in Los Angeles. The conference is April 4-5 at the SLS Hotel. As a fashion blogger, this is an important conference for anyone who loves social media and has a passion for fashion. Why am I making an investment of my precious time & money in this conference? It’s not to see celebrities like Nicole Richie although she will be there. (Although, I am very interested to hear about Nicole’s new House of Harlow fashion line.)  Other celebrities slated to appear at this year’s Lucky Fabb Conference include model Coco Rocha, Actress &  Mad Men star January Jones, plus supermodel Karolina Kurkova.  Those big names can be a be draw because they are fashionable celebs frequently photographed. Sometimes they are there to promote a new make-up line, a new movie or to just get blogger press and why not?   They don’t usually have any enlightening Social Media tips to pass on. But, the celebrities are second to the conference learning for me.  I go to Lucky Fabb to hear sessions on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), the business of blogging and to network with my peers.

As bloggers, we’re constantly exercising our social networks and learning by reading. But there are not many opportunities that we have to get out from behind the blog to meet our peers, talk with industry experts and meet magazine editors face to face. LuckyFabb provides all of this in one central location. That makes it easy for an attendees like myself to not only polish our skills but learn from others.

In the past, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some of my fashion idols like Betsey Johnson and Cynthia Vincent.  It’s also been fun hearing fashion and style tips from celebs like Kelly Osbourne and Drew Barrymore.

Finally, it’s pleasant to spend time at LuckyFabb. It’s great to get out of my work uniform of sweats and a ponytail. Two years ago we all enjoyed the posh and historic setting for the conference at the Marion Davies Beach House in Santa Monica (my favorite conference location.) This year, we’re heading to the hip SLS Hotel in West Hollywood. SLS is a very cool location in the heart of some of Los Angeles’ premier shopping spots. I’ll be very interested to hear what Lucky editors have to say about the shopping deals to be found all around the conference area. I look forward to seeing returning attendees and many new connections at this year’s conference.  I can’t wait to get my make-up done by Covergirl and learn some new tips.  And of course, I look forward to some gifts , parties and new fashion discoveries.  I love the ThursdayFriday tote and the Julie Vos jewelry I discovered at Lucky Fabb.

If you recognize me from Twitter , Instagram or my blog, stop by and say hello. From my perspective, Lucky Fabb offers a taste of all that is fabuless and the opportunity to hone social skills all within a luxury destination spot in Beverly Hills/ West Hollywood.  And what would a blogging conference be without a Twitter and #Instagram Hashtag ? Follow all the activities using what else, #LuckyFabb. If you’re interested in attending, details on the conference can be found on the Lucky Fabb website.

After LuckyFabb, look for me at BlogHer 2014 in San Jose, CA!
