This year the fabuless DKNY brand turns 25 years old.   The brainchild of Donna Karan has grown to be one of the finest, and perhaps the most established lower priced fashion collection.   Sunday, DKNY showed off their Spring 2014 collection and it’s easy to see why this brand is 25 years strong with no signs of slowing down.  Every DKNY show is essentially a love poem to New York City.  When the yellow cab arrives at the front doors of the Cedar Lakes, you know something special is about to come down the runway.  DKNY Spring 2014 is spirited and chic, celebrating the independent lifestyle of a New York City woman.

This collection features bold lapis, tidy whites, striking strips and easy separates.  It’s the look DKNY has built their brand on and this collection offers accessible pieces for the working woman, featuring lots of denim, sleeveless dress and oversized coats.  Although the collection had an overall casual look, there were a few surprises.

DKNY SS14 gowns

There were two stunning full length strapless satin gowns that had a very 1930’s flavor because of their bias cut  and form fitting design.  Surprisingly, the glamorous gowns were paired with comfortable DKNY sneakers instead of heels.
