Target Vera Neumann Scarves

If you love vintage clothing and vintage designs, then you’ll be interested in this news.  Target is bringing back vintage “Vera’ scarves this spring. Vera Neumann was an American designer who rose to prominence in the 1940’s with her colorful Vera scarves.  During World War II, when traditional fabrics were scarce,  the practical Vera used parachute silk found at army surplus store as a medium for beautiful floral scarf designs.  Soon her designs became popular as well as patriotic.  Her clients included  Marilyn Monroe , Grace Kelly and First Lady Bess Truman.

Now Vera’s lovely floral designs will be bought to a new generation of fashionistas via Target.   Starting April 28th, Target stores and their website will feature a new 17-piece collection of Vera scarves.  I can’t wait to see these, and I think my Mother would love one for Mother’s Day, since she owned original Veras.  These scarves might make affordable Mother’s Day gifts.
