The new Topshop store opens today at the Grove mall.

It’s a big day here in Los Angeles.  It’s Valentines Days, but  some of us maybe shopping too. That’s because a  fashiononista & recessionista favorite, Topshop is coming from London to The Grove shopping mall today.  The Grove reports via their Twitter ID that they will offer the  a special incentive for early shoppers of the new store today.

The “1st 100 people in line today for Topshop  at the TheGroveLA will receive a gift card from TheGroveLA valued up to $100.”  That’s a good incentive to get a head start on the shopping today.  Other incentives are available for shoppers this weekend, Feb. 16 -17.

If you head to the Grove today, the store is scheduled to open at 4 pm, but prior to the opening, their will be an old fashioned British Street fair going on starting at 3 pm PST, before the LA traffic really kicks in.    The “Topshop Topman Takeover,” event will take place at the Grove featuring Demi Lovato and Blood Orange. Special celebrity guests are also expected.  Look for the dress and accessories Kate Bosworth wore in the Who’s That Girl Topshop Christmas Video to make an appearance.  Other highlights of the opening include:

  • Tee Printing
  • Buy your tee instore then have it printed with one of our commemorative designs. Be one of the first there and receive a complimentary tee, while stocks last.
  • Very British Treats : Enjoy homemade lemonade, cotton candy and cupcakes.
  • Lucky Gift Cards
  • Track down the Topshop Topman team, who will be hitting The Grove with Lucky Gift Cards worth up to $500.
  • Temporary Tattoo Art
  • Bespoke designs with a Topshop Topman twist.
  • Free treats, plus special guests.

If you can’t make it to the Grove today, never fear,  the party will continue at the store all weekend.  Visitors will have the chance to still enjoy complimentary treats plus the chance to win a trip to London.

“Twenty-five percent of our online traffic for both Topshop and Topman has come from California,” says Sir Philip Green, the chain’s owner. “I’ve felt for a long time that we should have a store [in Los Angeles], because it’s a big fashionista city, much like London. There is a lot happening in fashion and entertainment.”

Sir Philip knows Los Angeles is  a city of Anglophiles and savvy shoppers. I predict long lines at The Grove today.

Stay tuned for more to come from Topshop during London Fashion Week and their special Virtual show on Sunday, Feb. 17th.   Watch for more details on that coming soon!
