Recessionista style: Prabal Gurung for Target dresses
Hot on the heels of their failed Holiday collection with Neiman Marcus, Target has released pictures from the forthcoming discount collaboration with designer Prabal Gurung. There are 21 looks from the collection, including some stratospheric looking shoes. The collection is due in stores on Feb. 10th, right before Valentines Day. It’ll be interesting to see if this collection delivers the quality for price that the Target holiday collection lacked. The collection ranges in price from $19.99 to $199.99 for apparel and $12.99 to $39.99 for jewelry, handbags and shoes. I’m waiting to see what could possibly be priced at $200.00 at Tar-jay.

Shoes from the Prabal Gurung for Target Collab.
The collection will be available Feb. 10 through March 23, 2013, or while supplies last, at all Target stores and Target.com. To see all the looks from the collection check Elle.com.

The bold floral and digital prints in this collection have me intrigued. The leather jacket is the most expensive piece. I’m counting down the days until Feb. 10!
I really have to wonder sometimes how much the “designer” is really doing the designing behind these collabs, and how much of it is Target’s internal design teams – ? I see some parallels to Jason Wu’s line from last year, which I’ll post about later today. You just have to wonder, especially after Missoni for Target came out and it was revealed that the M-family only ‘inspired” the designs that were really created by Target’s design team!
I think these are “Inspired” the Target design teams work from the designer’s originals–that’s my guess!
