Mrs Obama in Jason Wu alongside JS Boutique Doppelganger dress

I’ve heard from quite a few readers today about how much they loved Michelle Obama’s red Jason Wu dress from last night’s inaugural ball. In case you missed it, Mrs O rocked a ruby-red custom Jason Wu woven faille coupé gown. The dress was accented with a white gold ring with pavé diamonds at the collarbone from Kimberly McDonald. The dress was truly a luxury  fashion item.  For the First Lady of the United States, a special occasion gown was a necessity.

With Valentine’s Day coming up many of you have asked is there a recessionista version of this dress? Well good news.  Our spies went out searching like bloodhounds for something similar and found that JS Boutique offers a  red chiffon halter gown with a pinched neckline and beading under the bust for $198.  Look for this  gown at select Nordstrom locations. Its a taste of Mrs. O’s style without the luxury price tag.   If you check Nordstroms online, there are several red JS Boutique dresses on sale that give you at taste of Mrs. Obama’s style for under $200.00.
