Here’s big new just spotted on The Recessionista radar! Nanette Lepore is launching her first ever juniors line exclusively for jcpenney. The line will be called L’Amour by Nanette Lepore . Our spies tell us this is a is a feminine, quirky, edgy yet refined juniors sportswear collection set to launch in jcpenney stores nationwide on 2/1.  Prices are set to range from $30.00 to $60.00.

Here are a few details. The collection features a variety of colorful sportswear:  bottoms (denim, pants and skirts), knit and woven tops, dresses, sweaters and jackets. The designs include: bold prints and patterns inspired by Nanette Lepore’s brand, abstract, print mixing, stripes and florals.  The line, which is inspired by Nanette’s daughter Violet, is modern yet youthful and relevant in trend with Nanette’s signature feminine sensibility, pattern mixing and crazy fun colors.

” I’ve always wanted to do a juniors line, but the price point is not something I’ve been able to do with the way I’m structured,” said Ms. Lepore, noting that this is her first partnership with a retailer.

I’ve long been a fan of Nanette Lepore and have attended her New York Fashion Week shows.  Frankly I wish this wasn’t going to be junior sized! I can see many adult women trying to wear these fashion, just like Target’s Go Collections.  Big props to JCPenney.  In 2012 they added Lulu Guinness and Jenny Packham, and now they add Nanette Lepore for 2013.  Look out Target!
