Sketches from the new Mad Men collection for Banana Republic

Just like  movie sequels, successful fashion sequels can be highly lucrative.  So it’s no surprise that   Banana Republic has announced a  third installment of their successful ‘Mad Men’ Collection  set to arrive at select Banana Republic stores nationwide and online on February 27.

So what can you expect from the third go round? My spies say it will be a collection full of “bright colors, new silhouettes and fresh, bold prints.”  That sounds familiar,  much like the second collaboration.  Everything will continue to be vintage inspired of course  based on fashions from the late ’60s.  The new collection  features more than 50 pieces of apparel and accessories for men and women from the show’s brilliant Costume Designer Janie Bryant. This time around, look for shorter hemlines, keyhole details and statement accessories for women and bold plaids and stripes for men, reflective of the late ‘60s era also know as the “swinging sixites.” Things seem to be moving from Jackie Kennedy prim to Twiggy mini-skirts.  This collection sounds like Mad Men goes Mod.

Looks for these price points for the collection:

  •   Apparel pieces range from $49.50 – $140 (women) and $44.50 – $375 (men)
  •  Accessories range from $29.50 – $128 (women) and $45 – $69.50 (men)
