Procrastinators Rejoice! If you’re like me, you I don’t want to pay a fortune for shipping. Right now, I am behind on my shopping, which means I will have to buy late and ship from a retailer. I’m sure some of you have the same issue. Fortunately, if you’re like me and have put off shopping and shipping , free shipping day is coming Dec. 17th. Spend some time in these next few days to select what you want, and place it in your shopping carts. Then you can order easily on the 17th to take advantage of free shipping day, Dec. 17th 2012.
Take a look at the FreeShipping website for extra savings. The website has some great tips on their site about how to give to charities to meet the minimum free shipping requirements. One tip is when ordering from an online retailer that requires a minimum purchase to qualify for free shipping, buy a toy or gift for someone in need with the extra money needed to get the discounted delivery. BigBrothersBigSisters.org/kids and Angel Tree offer ideas for how to make this Christmas a special one for underprivileged kids.
Remember, a lot of the retailers will no longer offer free shipping after Dec. 18th ( or any shipping with a guarantee to arrive by Dec. 24th). If you’re using the US Postal Service, the time to ship by parcel post has already passed. However, there’s still time to use other forms of mail delivery. Mark these dates on your calendar :
- USPS: First-class mail must go out by Dec. 20, Priority mail by Dec. 21 and most Express mail by Dec. 22.
- UPS: Next Day Air packages must be picked up or dropped at UPS by the 21st to arrive on the 24th. 2nd Day Air items must be sent on the 20th.
- Federal Express: FedEx Home Delivery and Ground shipments ship by the 17th to arrive by Christmas. If you select the 2nd Day service you have until Dec. 20; if you want to spend more $$ you can using the overnight options until the 22nd.
