H&M Instagram Contest to Promote David Beckham Bodywear

By  |

Pictured: Oh look, it’s a statute of David Beckham, just what I needed on Friday!

Ok, I like the sight of David Beckham in his undies as much as any women, but a statute of Becks in his briefs? C’mon! Seriously? Seriously, H&M has put up statutes of Beckham like he was a modern day Adonis at near their stores in New York and Hollywood yesterday.   Scary or Sexy? You decide. I have posted the picture of the statute above for your viewing pleasure.  Nine 10-foot statues of the soccer star have been placed in hot spots throughout New York City (check the H&M website for details), Los Angeles (Hollywood & Highland, Beverly Center), and San Francisco (Union Square). In these large metro locations, statues of Beckham could possibly cause displays of idolatry.

Pictured: Some of the H&M Instagram Beckham pics are too much, especially this one w/ the Van Dyke stash & beard.

The statutes are of course a marketing gimmick to get the word out about Beckham’s bodywear collection for H&M.  But wait, there’s more promotion afoot. Snap a picture on Instagram with your favorite Beckham statue anytime from now through August 19th, and tag it with #HMBeckham. Include a mustache, soccer ball, or shopping bag in your picture for added effect! Visitors to the statues who upload their images to Instagram will have the chance to win one of 100 mini, limited edition David Beckham statues; one of ten pairs of signed David Beckham underwear; and the grand prize which includes $1,000 H&M shopping spree!

Those who cannot make it to the statue sites will have a second chance to take a picture with Beckham from August 20th to August 31st at H&M store locations throughout the participating cities. H&M fans can also follow @HMUSA on Twitter and visit HMBeckham.com for details on other great ways to win rewards! The contest will be live on HMBeckham.com for residents of the U.S. until August 31st. All winners will be selected at random.
