It’s been reported today that the soon to be ex-Mrs. Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, is planning a presentation at New York Fashion Week. According to Huffington Post and WWD, Katie and her design partner Jeanne Yang, will show their Holmes & Yang line at New York Fashion Week in September. I’ve seen some pieces of the Holmes & Yang line at Barney’s New York and small Los Angeles upscale boutiques (Maxfield). It’s pricey to be sure, but it is understated and elegant, if not cutting edge fashion. Prices are well over $500.00 per item, although you can find it on sale now at European website Montaigne Market for about 50% off of it’s retail price.

It will be interesting to see if Holmes & Yang can expand their market reach with the publicity that will inevitably ensue post the Cruise divorce. And if that reach expands, perhaps the prices will fall so that the line can truly go mass market? Stay tuned.
