Burn Baby, Burn: Francesca Eastwood Burns a Birkin for the Camera

It’s getting so hard to promote reality TV shows these days.  Apparently, it’s not enough to be related to Clint Eastwood, you got to pull out all  the stops.  TMZ is showing off photos Clint’s beautiful daughter Francesca burning a 100K Birkin Bag for a photo shoot. I had seen previews of the show where Mrs. Eastwood aka Dina Ruiz was outraged over Tyler Shields putting her step-daughter in danger for a photo shoot where fire was involved, but now we now that what was burning was one of the worlds most coveted and expensive handbags. Shame that they didn’t auction this for charity instead of burning if for headlines.  Shame that Francesca put herself into a literal ring of fire for publicity. But hey, life is tough when you have to keep up with the Kardashians for reality TV ratings. Staging a wedding for TV has already been done, so it’s time for a new trick.

I hope Clint stops appearing on this shite of  a show.  I was in the audience at Cannes when he premiered his film Mystic River a few years ago.  I sat several rows behind him and his family.  I can’t believe with a talented director and auteur like Clint available that this is the best this clan can do.  I’m wondering how long Mrs. Eastwood & Co. is going to run.  It’s light on substance to say the least. Where’s the House of Hermes when you need them? I know several women who would weep bitter tears over the burning of a Birkin bag. To some in Beverly Hills and Carmel a Birkin burning would merit a 911 call.
