The merchandising evolution of the fashions of Vera Wang fascinates me. At the beginning of this recession (that we still find ourselves in) she reinvented herself with Simply Vera, a lower priced fashion line for Kohl’s. She made no apologies for that, admitting that funding from her partnership with Kohl’s would help her continue as a designer. Her bridal gowns, once so expensive and coveted, can now be found for more more reasonable prices at David’s Bridal. There’s even a replica of Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress. Her new Spring 2012 collection for David’s features plenty of Flower Power in the shape of fabric rosettes on her gowns and bridesmaid dresses. As you can see from the picture above, the floral embellishments on the dresses include organza petals and soft petal prints. There are also floral-inspired accessories, like organza flower booties, crystal orchid hair accessories and floral sashes.

Consistent with David’s Bridal’s price points, the new collection of gowns will be priced under $1,500 US. Most accessories are priced under $100.00. What do you think readers? Do you like all this floral flower power on both the gowns and accessories or do you think it’s too much? For me, I like things that are a bit more stream lined and simple.
