As some of you know, Norma Kamali's amazing designs are no longer on sale via Walmart.  When I interviewed her at Fashion Week a few months ago, it was clear that she would be starting something new and doing her own lower-priced line now that she had completed her work with Walmart.  I don't have any updates on Norma's new line, but the designer has titled the line...wait for it, Kamali Kulture :) To get all the details, be sure to sign up at this web link.  In advance of the launch of Kamali Kulture, the iconic designer is offering a low price version for the swimsuit she created for Farrah Fawcett  in the 1970s on her Facebook page.  The swimsuit, entitled the new Style Mio sells for $98.00 USD.

Last year Ms. Kamali spoke about her experience of meeting Farrah in her New York store in the 1970s.  Here's the story about how Farrah selected this now classic red swimsuit direct from the designer who created it.

"One day she was shopping in my store and asked to meet me. I saw her incredible beauty, and if I compare the beauties through the years I've met, Farrah was truly up in the top register. Her famous swimsuit poster became iconic, and just recently her family donated the swimsuit to the Smithsonian.

Farrah could have worn anything and that poster would still have been a success. How lucky for me she had my swimsuit in her bag. "

Stay tuned for more updates about Kamali Kulture. According to the designer's Twitter, Kamali Kulture will be a " new under $100 collection."    The designer is one of The Recessionista's favorites, both for price and quality.
