In preparation for the upcoming Fashion’s Night Out Shopping Festival on Sept. 8th, Chanel is inviting their customers to their boutiques to try their new nail polish “Les Jeans De Chanel.” Think of this as nail polish meets Levis meets Chanel. You don’t need to be a trained economic analyst to know that in tough times, a lower priced product can be a great boon to a luxury brand, say a nail polish or a lipstick. The perfume Chanel No. 5 proved to be a goldmine for Coco Chanel and helped to keep the House of Chanel going strong during tough times. Remember the photos of the American GIs lined up in Paris at the end of WW II to bring a bottle of Chanel No. 5 home to their girlfriends? It’s an age old formula, satisfying the longing for the unattainable luxury goods, by marketing a lower priced accessory/beauty product. The Chanel Nail Polish fits the bill. Depending where you buy Chanel nail polish, prices run from $34.99 to over $100.00. Check the price comparisons for Chanel nail polish here. Pricing for Les Jeans De Chanel Nail Polish is as yet unannounced, but Chanel has already opened up an online wait list. What do you think readers? Will you be getting on the wait list for the three Chanel colours in Les Jeans De Chanel collection: Coco Blue, Blue Rebel and Blue Boy?
