The Kardashians Launch another Fashion Franchise with Sears: In Stores in August

By  |

The Kardashians are coming to Sears in August with a fashion collection. Surprised huh?  Well, you shouldn’t be if you believe Kim’s statements on her blog that they have always shopped at Sears and love it.  Right, that must be that big Sears store over in Beverly Hills, right? 🙂 The line was announced back in Jan, but now it’s getting ready to move to the Sears racks. Their incredible reality franchise continues to branch out by invading America’s shopping heartland Sears and Roebuck. Amazing. My great grandmother bought clothes at Sears during the depression, and now, I can buy clothes from the Kardashians at Sears during the recession. How ironic is that?  But I’m sure the Kardashian line won’t be offering simple house dresses.  A promotion page is now on the Sears website, so you can sign up and get all the details when they are available.

Pictured: No it’s not a canteen with fringe! It’s a K-Dash  for QVC bag from the Kardashians avec fringe and chain.

Personally, I don’t agree that the triple K franchise is the apotheosis of fashion.  I wasn’t bowled over by the previous Kardashian collection at Bebe, but there were a few good looking cocktail dresses that may have worked for you if you had the figure or daring to wear the thigh-high skirts.  To me the current K-Dash for QVC line is less good looking than the Bebe collection, and of course a lot less sexy.  It’s also not cheap. There are so many amazing upscale, quality designer deals at Loehmann’s and other retailers, that I’m not sure why consumers would want to pay over $100.00 for Kardashian fashions made in China with synthetic fabrics.  I expect the Sears collection to offer more of the same. Which begs the point, how many Kardashian inspired fashion lines, or reality TV shows for that matter,  do we need?   I’d hate to see any more of the K-DASH by Kardashian Lamb Leather Fringe Crossbody Bags on the market with a retail price of $133.00 (no on sale for approx $60.00).  I don’t know if bringing the Kardashians to Sears will revamp Sears fashion.  What do you think?

I’m more impressed with another fashion line by a group of sisters in the entertainment industry.  Check out Elizabeth and James from the Olsen sisters on sale at website Tobi this week.
