Last week, I reported that Fergie’s daughter Princess Beatrice was auctioning her Royal Wedding hat on eBay for charity.  Frankly, I was a bit skeptical about how much money this one might raise.  But, when you’re the granddaughter of the Queen of England, doors and bid are clearly open.  Fergie’s girl’s hat sold for 130k US.

Yesterday in a statement Princess Bea discussed the sale, and the high price of the winning bid. “It has its own personality, and I am so happy that we have raised the most incredible amount of money and can make an even bigger change for the lives of some of the most vulnerable children across the world,”  Beatrice, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Duchess Sarah Ferguson, said in a statement.  Clearly, someone has money to burn.  I hope the proceeds help children around the world via UNICEF.  Wonder if we will ever see this hat worn on anyone else’s head in public? 🙂
