Wellness Giveaway: Normal Kamali Olive Oil Wellness Kit

Pictured: Norma Kamali Olive Oil Beauty Products Giveaway.

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know I have been sick with a nasty bug. for the past few days.  I’m no longer shopping for the best fashions at the best prices, but rather Puffs, Theraflu, Vick’s Vapor Rub and some Zicam.  This is how bad things are.  I got so sick, I even tuned in for 10 minutes to Sheen’s Korner to see Charlie’s live webcast over the weekend.  Times have been tough!

One of the few things I’ve been enjoying in the past week is the Wellness Kit that designer Norma Kamali gave me.   Some of you may not know this, but since 9/11, Norma has been exploring the healing natural properties of Olive Oil.  ” I don’t know everything, but just after 9/11 I got involved in this Olive Oil product and I realized that these products are so simple,” says the designer. “There are no chemicals. Everything has been around for thousands of years. You can have a mask that’s made out of sea clay, olive oil and ground olive pits. It’s great for your skin and you can feel and see results. That you just puree olives and that’s a great soap or you put ground olive pits in that and you have an exfoliator. A liniment that’s made out of calcium and olive oil, that’s great to calm the skin of sunburn or diaper rash.  Massaging olive oil, first pressed olive oil, into your skin and having the nutrition go into your bloodstream instead of these toxic chemicals just made sense.”

If you stop in her 56th St store in New York, you can visit her wellness cafe where she sells some amazing natural products, including Lavender Ice Cream with Olive Oil.  I’ve meet Norma a few times, and she has the most amazing skin which she attributes to her healthy diet and her use of Olive Oil products.  In the last few days, I’ve been checking out her Olive Oil body wash and  massage oil.  It may not make the cold/flu disappear any quicker, but it’s making me feel better, and soothing my skin so I don’t feel so dehydrated. After a hot shower, or stream room treatment, I’m enjoying a slathering of the Olive Calcium Liniment or Massage Oil before throwing on my soft fleece from Alternative Apparel. It really feels good and provides some comfort during a period of extreme discomfort, congestion and sneezing!   So, I’m passing along the NK Wellness love to some of my readers.  I’m giving away a Normal Kamali Wellness Travel Kit. Enter here leaving a comment to win a collection of Norma Kamali’s Olive Oil soaps, moisturizers, masques, and liniments.

Simply leave a comment here, and tell me if you have ever used Olive Oil on your skin, or if you would like to try it.  Special bonus if you have a common cold remedy left in your comment :) To enter, simply leave your email address in your comment like so:  Norma at yahoo dot com, so I can get in touch with you  if you win.   Comments will be accepted until Monday, March 21st at midnight PST.

What a great idea! I haven't used olive oil on my skin (except for hand cream) but I have used it on my hair as a natural deep conditioner. It's a bit messy, but works wonders on dry, parched hair!

I've never used Olive Oil products, but they sound amazing and I would totally love to try it!! :) Oh, and for your bug , if you have a cough mix honey with apple cider vinegar and take a 'shot' of it daily. It goes down pretty smooth… but I love vinegar so Im a bit biased. ;) abethurem at yahoo dot com

I've never used olive oil on my skin but knowing how beneficial it is to cook and eat with olive oil, it's no surprise that there would be some benefits to the skin by applying it. One remedy I use to ease my cold symptoms & congestion is to purchase some eucalyptus oil at my pharmacy and place a teaspoonful (or more) into a pot of boiled water. I make a tent over it with a face towel and breathe and relax over the scent.

I have never used Olive Olive on my skin, but would love to try as I have heard great things about it.

Bonus Entry: A cold remedy I use is to steep ginger root as hot as I can get it into a tea. Sometimes I'll even add garlic to it. It really helps with the congestion and sinuses.

Cold Remedy- I usually feel much better after drinking hot tea with organic raspberry jam mixed in the tea.

I tried regular olive oil both on my hair and face. It is great as a moisturizer and makeup remover!

I've used Olive Oil products on my hair, too. I love it. I'd recommend trying echinacea in concentrate liquid form. Drop a couple drops in a glass of pure orange juice. It always worked like a charm for me.

    Hope you're feeling better.

I haven't used olive oil for my skin. I am intrigued by this and would like to try it.

Sorry to hear that you're under the weather. My grandmother used to make me a big pot of ginger broth with brown sugar. The hot, spicy broth warms me up and clears my sinus in no time. Hope you feel better soon!

I really admire those people who are aware of their physical fitness and wellness. Some do spend much for it. I'm trying to do some of it in a cheapest ways because I’m lack of financial support.
