Special Event, DKNY Madison Ave. Sept. 30th: An Author’s Life with Multiple Sclerosis

I love special events to help special causes.  Even better if they help me with my shopping.  Here’s one that fits the bill. If you’re in NYC on Sept. 30th, you’re invited to stop in to shop at the Donna Karan New York (DKNY) store on Madison Ave. for a book signing.  DKNY & the National MS Society are hosting a special event on Thursday, September 30th to celebrate the critically acclaimed memoir “Awkward Bitch, My Life with MS” by author Marlo Donato Parmelee.  This is a true, and inspiring story!  In 2004 at the age of 32, fashionista and musician Marlo Donato Parmelee was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). She candidly chronicles her personal journey in accepting the diagnosis in her memoir.  Listen to Marlo’s vlogs about her battles with MS – among other topics – on her YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/teslagirlm.

The event is from 6-8 PM.  Marlo will read a special excerpt from her book, while you enjoy some Bubbly and Canapes.  But wait, there is more.  Customers will receive a 10% discount on the their DKNY purchases and DKNY will donate 10% of the evening’s proceeds to the NYC – Southern NY chapter of the National MS Society.  Kudos to DKNY for offering a nice discount for the evening, and for helping to bring this special store to our attention.
