BlogHer was a fantastic opportunity to meet up with some bloggers and make contacts with both fashionistas and recessionistas. I must admit, I did feel a bit out of place though not being a Mom Blogger. It seemed like much of the brand opportunities, er conference, involved courting the Mom bloggers to get their sponsorship for ”products for the family.” I have to admit, I am still scratching my head over that. I’ve seen more fellowship at Fashion Week among bloggers, than I did at the recent BlogHer conference. BlogHer, to me, became sadly more about parties and Swag than sessions. There was very little drive to really learn the craft of social networking. But after all, it’s hard to concentrate on how to blog, or index your site with search engines when you are being Bedazzled ala Dudley Moore and tempted with SWAG and nights on the town. So a big thank you to RetailMeNot.com for reaching out to a single fashionista, with no kids. I was definitely in the silent minority of BlogHer attendees. The few, the proud, the single. And don’t get me wrong, I love me some free stuff, I just thought there would be equal focus on the sessions. That was not the case. Just my humble opinion.

I'm not here to enter the contest since I was at the conference and received the awesome bag that you are giving away (Enter People! Enter!). Just wanted to share that I get you on the feelings about the catering to Mommy Bloggers. I have step-kids and I'm married, but that's not really what I blog about. My step-kids loved the swag, but again, I hear ya.

I always use retailmenot before I buy anything! There is almost always a coupon for free shipping and many coupons for certain percentages off total purchase prices. RetailMeNot saved me $120 on a large purchase by using a 10% off coupon. Lucky me had an extra $120 in my bank account. Enough for a pair of shoes? Well, I think it went for part of a pair of shoes anyway!
