As the guests are sitting down to dinner inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, I’m still musing about the fashions on the red carpet.  I’m lusting for Claire Dane’s Burberry strapless dress, and I am not alone.  Her look is already rated as one of the evening’s best by Huffington Post readers in a poll of the night’s fashions. Claire’s ensemble consists of a custom made dark nickel metallic lace strapless gown, clutch and shoes, all by Burberry.  Is it any wonder why she loves Christopher Bailey? But she’s not alone.  Check out Emma Watson, with the best fashion accessory, Christopher Bailey!

Emma is wearing a custom made one shoulder white silk gown, custom made clutch bag and shoes, all by Burberry.  Emma has great taste.  She was recently sighted wearing the White Camilla Chanel Pendant I just bought.  I like how she is not weighing the dress down with lots of bling.  When you have the skin of an English rose, you don’t need to distract from it.  She just lets the delicate bodice and one shoulder with ruching show off her features.  I like the simple elegance of both looks.  Sorry to say, I’m disappointed in the Gap gowns.  Too many ruffles, and too many details on most of them.  What do you think readers, have any of you check out all the looks on Huff Post and the reader poll?  Am I the only one fascinated by the Met Gala? I refuse to watch the table flipping antics and screeching on a certain Bravo show tonight.  Give me the sublime Burberry lines instead!
